Attorney Profiles

Melanie J. Rhodes received her Bachelor of Science Foreign Service degree from Georgetown University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1983.  In 2000 Ms. Rhodes received her Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law.  While attending law school, Ms. Rhodes received the Atkinson and Kelsey Award for Excellence in Family Law.  Ms. Rhodes specifically practices domestic violence law and has spoken at many conferences regarding this issue.  Additionally, while in law school, Ms. Rhodes authored and lobbied the first statute through the New Mexico Legislature which requires courts to consider domestic violence when making child custody decisions.

Ms. Rhodes remains active as an alumna and regularly conducts interviews of prospectve Georgetown University students.  Ms. Rhodes has been affiliated with Wolf & Fox, P.C. since August 2000 and became a shareholder and partner in January 2006.  In addition to her extensive work in the area of domestic violence laws, Ms. Rhodes also practices in the areas of Family Law, Misdemeanor Criminal Defense Law and Election Law.
